Don't think it is our defence it is our formation as we are very attacking under Billic. 2 forwards should be our main concern

Seeing as Reid can't stay fit for 5 minutes and every good spell ginge has coukd we'll be his Indian summer ore retirement, I don't think a new CB is a bad idea

Defensive frailities immediately means new CB required? I would say
How about we consider
The shape of the team with Carroll playing lone striker
How exposed we are with such cavalier wide defenders and no proper DM to drop back in.
The poor defensive performances this season have largely been down to lack of shape in the defence.
Also defence starts in midfield for me. Absolutely imperative that we have some defensive minded ball winners in there to help the defence and alllow our impressive attacking players to do their thing.
Not ruling out the need for a centre back per se but there are other priorities for me.

When we had our offensive players out injured and we went to a defensive formation we kept about 4 clean sheets in a row . So defense isn't a concern it is our formation that ships goals

Without Collins (who's been are best defender this season) we lack a leader at the back. I would sale one out of Reid or Tomkins and bring another leader in.

It's going to be a hard long season so the more the merrier,Europe,the cups and league so players are going to get injured and you can't rely on kids for long periods as you will burn them out and ruin them for the long term.

Of all our defenders I'd sell Reid at minute. Never fit and no way near the form of early season. Tomkins is more versatile.

I was sure we were good for CB's, but now I'm wondering if we now need a top class CB to partner Oggy...Reid simply cannot be trusted to stay fit, Tomkins I like, but he will never be real top class, Collins the same, plus he's getting on, and maybe still too early for Burke..?
